As of October 1, 2020, there have been 293 applicants who have submitted E-rate applications for additional internet bandwidth required due to COVID-19. The requests are intended for school locations that have experienced an uptick in the bandwidth they require. To date, a total of $5.69 million has been requested to support 1,275 sites at sites in 40 different states. The deadline to submit applications is October 16, 2020.
Historically, most applications are submitted in the closing days of a filing window and it is expected that this filing window will follow a similar pattern.
