As of October 8, 2020, there have been 613 applicants who have submitted E-rate applications for additional Internet support required because of COVID-19. The requests are intended for school locations that have experienced an uptick in the bandwidth they need. To date, a total of $14.53 million has been requested to support 2,719 sites at sites in 46 different states. The deadline to submit applications is October 16, 2020. Historically, most applications are submitted in the closing days of a filing window and it is expected that this filing window will follow a similar pattern.
