On September 5, 2019, Senator John Thune, chairman of the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet, convened a hearing entitled “Transforming Rural America: A New Era of Innovation.” In the hearing, witnesses testified regarding “the innovations high-speed broadband services bring to rural America” as well as the continued need for robust broadband connectivity in rural areas.
