On July 25, 2018, the House Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee held an FCC Oversight Hearing. The Committee members grilled the five FCC Commissioners on issues pertaining telecommunications industry. Specifically, the Congressional Committee was concerned that Hurricane season is upon us and had discussions regarding continuing to secure our networks. The Commissioners also discussed merger and acquisitions, spectrum policy, how to address the “homework gap” cybersecurity, ensuring the FCC and NTIA broadband map has the most complete and up to date information, and other issues around continuing to ensure Universal Service remains solvent.
