On March 13, 2018, USAC released an RFP, looking to possibly replace Solix, their current contractor that handles the commitment and post commitment application and invoicing process. Solix has been the contractor for these USAC services since 1998. The RFP deadline was originally May 11, 2018, but had been extended until May 25, 2018 and now the new due date is June 15, 2018 12:00pm EST.
Bidders had until April 30, 2018 to submit questions and the SLD recently released answers which can be viewed here. While there will be ongoing training and professional development, one of the bidders inquired about initial training for PIA staff. The SLD responded that “…the current training program for new reviewers on regular PIA review lasts five days. This includes a mix of classroom lecture and hands-on activities. Additional training is required for other review processes and is commensurate with the complexity of the review being undertaken….”
