On Monday, October 2, 2017 the Senate voted to reconfirm Ajit Pai to the FCC and will be Chairman until his term expires on June 30, 2021. Last week the Senate debated Pai’s nomination. The Democrats are concerned and largely did not support his re-nomination on the basis that he plans on rescinding the 2015 Net Neutrality rules and his stances on other controversial issues while the Republicans support his nomination. The Senate debate lasted several days.
