On December 17, the USAC Schools and Libraries Committee recommended to the FCC to lower the Funding Year 2010 Priority Two discount threshold from 85% to 81%.
With Funding Wave 032, the SLD notified 171 applicants and 193 service providers that the FCC approved that recommendation and committed $36 million to those applicants.
According to a Funds For Learning analysis, nearly 1,400 applicants have Priority Two applications pending at the 80% discount band and the SLD will need to confirm they have at least $280 million to cover those requests before recommending to the FCC they can fund those applications.
