On May 19, 2006, the FCC released the Bishop Perry Order. The Bishop Perry Order grouped together 196 applicant appeals which had been filed with the FCC and as a group they were remanded back to USAC. This group of 196 included funding years from 1999 thru 2006 and dealt with a wide variety of issues. The FCC gave USAC 60 days to contact the 196 applicants and give those applicants a chance to correct errors found in their applications. Because USAC is giving preference to these 196 applicants, here is an update on the progress of those 196 applicant's funding requests.
In the appendixes to Bishop Perry Order, the FCC listed the by Applicant and Application Number the 196 appeals they were remanding back. Many Applicants had more than one Application Number under appeal, and each Application Number can have more than one funding request associated with it. As a group, there are 3107 individual funding requests which were affected by the remand. A breakout of the funding requests by year is as follows:

According to USAC, approximately $585 million is set aside to fund all outstanding appeals. As a group, the 196 Bishop Perry applicants had funding requests which totaled approximately $68 million, assuming all funding requests were approved and funded as requested. As the above chart shows, not all the funding requests have been granted, and currently only approximately $6.5 million of the possible $68 million has actually been approved.
