The SLD will soon be sending out letters explaining their delay in processing to the remaining applicants and service providers who are still waiting approval of their 2004 applications. There are approximately 160 pending 2004 applications totaling $243,290,485. The SLD has stopped issuing regular 2004 funding waves and will release funding commitments as applications get processed.
The SLD released Wave 33 for the 2005 funding year last week, totaling $35,737,906. The SLD funded $6.4 million in internal connections requests and $2.3 million in basic maintenance at the 90% discount threshold. Close to 440 applicants and 500 service providers received funding commitment decision letters, and to date the SLD has committed a total of 1.28 billion for the 2005 funding year.
