The Schools and Libraries Division announced that on April 5 it will release another wave, this one totaling more than $22.2 million to 80 applicants, for the 2004 funding year. There was no change in the approved threshold for internal connections, which remains at 81 percent.
With this wave, number 16 for the 2004 funding year, the total committed for that year remains just under the $1.9 billion mark. The wave follows less than two weeks after the last wave for that funding year.
As of April 4, the SLD had data-entered nearly 99,000 funding requests for the 2005 funding year, totaling $2.451 billion. When that process is finished, the SLD will submit its formal projection of the applicant demand for the 2005 funding year to the Federal Communications Commission.
