The Schools and Libraries Division announced January 16 that next week it will distribute another $49.8 million worth of E-rate funding commitments for 2003 to 271 applicants. There will be no change in the threshold for approved internal connections requests, which remains at 85 percent.
As of January 20, 2004, the SLD will have distributed nearly $1.7 billion in funding commitments for the 2003 year. That is approximately the same pace of approvals as the SLD had achieved at this point a year ago.
In the past, the SLD has said that applicants that do not know the disposition of their funding requests by the deadline of the next application cycle can submit their requests again, but should be prepared to cancel duplicate requests when they know how the requests fared.
