The Schools and Libraries Division announced that on May 5 it will release 79 E-rate funding commitment letters, representing another $10 million in commitments, to applicants for the 2002 funding year.
This wave, number 28, brings to nearly $2.2 billion the total committed for the 2002 funding year. The SLD has approved eligible internal connections requests for applicants down to the 81 percent discount rate, but has made no decision yet on requests from applicants at the 80 percent discount rate.
The SLD is now managing regular waves for two funding years. Last week it announced the first wave, for Priority One services, for the 2003 funding year, which starts July 1.
