The Schools and Libraries Division announced October 17 that Ellen Wolfhagen, the agency's director of service provider support, will step down at the end of the month to return to her home state of Washington as project manager for the state's K-20 network.
Wolfhagen joined the agency in April 1999 as its general counsel and moved to her current job just over a year later. In that role, she led a biweekly conference call designed to keep service providers abreast of SLD developments and was responsible for representing their points of view in SLD policy-making.
In a statement posted on the SLD Website, Wolfhagen said, "It was a wonderful opportunity to really make a difference in how the program operated. I'm very proud of some of the innovations that I helped bring about such as SPIN changes and corrections and the Form 500."
The announcement came as Wolfhagen was leading the last of three vendor training sessions before the start of the application filing window for the 2003 funding year.
