The Schools and Libraries Division has still not set the dates for the E-rate program's Year 4 filing window. However, SLD President Kate Moore told the Schools and Libraries Committee July 17 that it would probably run from "mid-November to mid-January."
Moore indicated that the applicant community had advised the SLD that they did not want the window to end before the December holidays. The filing window for the program's third year ended on January 19, 2000.
The filing window dates only apply to the submission of Form 471 applications. Form 470 applications can now be filed anytime of year, or after July 1 in the case of tariffed telecommunications services, or Internet access, cellular service or paging services purchased on a month-to-month basis.
Moore said the Schools and Libraries Committee will approve the specific dates "as we get closer to" the window.
