Cochise Responds to O’Reilly

In a September 26 filing with the FCC, Cochise County School Superintendent Jacqui Clay responded to FCC Commissioner Michael O’Reilly’s letter requesting information regarding the Cochise County Education and Technology Consortium’s self-provisioned fiber network project.  In the letter, Superintendent Clay notes that the County’s schools and libraries currently have “less than 6 Gbps” bandwidth in total, well short of the Commission’s FY2020 bandwidth target of “nearly 78 Gbps.”
The response also addresses O’Reilly’s specific questions in detail, including descriptions of the network configuration and the organization’s competitive bidding processes. Superintendent Clay’s letter may be viewed here.
