On June 11, 2019, the Schools, Health, Libraries Broadband Coalition (SHLB) met with the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau to have discussions about making it easier for Universal Service Fund (USF) participants to submit a single application for multiple USF program’s in order to improve broadband coverage. SHLB noted that the “National Broadband Plan recommended that the use of shared networks as a way to aggregate demand and lower the costs for all users.” The SHLB members did not suggest combining existing E-rate and Rural Healthcare programs or endorse the recent Public Notice about putting a master cap on all USF programs.
