E-rate applicants and service providers should be aware that they may receive an inquiry from USAC about specific FRN balance as of October 31, 2018. Each year, USAC undergoes an audit and the auditor verifies the balance reported by USAC and match that to the records of E-rate beneficiaries. This year the audit is being conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and confirmations are being sent from confirmations@pwc.com. If the FRN balance is different than the records provided from USAC they will want an explanation on how the balance was determined.
Even though the FY 2019 Form 471 Filing Window is rapidly approaching on March 27, USAC is asking that applicants and service providers check their email and respond promptly if they receive an FRN balance verification request. See the official USAC notification.
