On October 17, 2018, the Florida State Department of Education filed an invoice waiver request for any district negatively impacted by Hurricane Michael. The waiver requests states that “….many of these counties suffered catastrophic damages to their infrastructure and will be without power, including internet, for several weeks or even months…” The state also believes that many E-rate records might have been completely destroyed as well.
