Funding year 2017 is approaching its last month, and thousands of schools and libraries are awaiting the start of the 2018 funding year. Yet, more than 600 applicants still are waiting for a funding commitment decision letter for funding year 2017.
FCC Chairman Pai recently responded to concerns about unnecessary delays, agreeing that “bureaucratic red tape should not stand in the way of the E-rate program”. Building on the momentum of 2018, it is hoped that USAC will soon complete its review of the funding year 2017 applications.
