On April 14, 2016, FCC Commissioner Clyburn announced that over the next several months she will be going on a tour to various communities, institutions and start-ups to engage in a conversation about the best way to connect all Americans in the digital age. She wants to hear the challenges and talk about the opportunities that exist and then later this year will be announcing her observations and highlight policy positions to advance the goal to connect Americans to affordable communications.
This is on the heels of the FCC’s recent modernization of the Lifeline Program and the E-rate Program. FCC’s Commissioner Clyburn’s statement of this listening tour can be viewed here.
