On July 30, 2012, the USAC Schools and Libraries Committee held their Quarterly Board Meeting. Highlights from the meeting include:
The Committee approved the SLD’s recommendation to begin issuing funding commitments for FY 2011 Priority Two applications at the 88% discount level and denying applications at 87% and below. The Committee also approved the SLD’s recommendation to start issuing FY 2012 P2 applications at 90% and denying P2 applications at 89% and below.
USAC indicated that they expect to see Funding Year 2012 P2 denials at the 89% level and below and FY 2011 P2 denials at 87% and below as early as this week.
USAC revised its annual operating budget to a total of $53.83 million, a reduction of approximately $3 million.
USAC indicated that approximately 18,000 Funding Year 2012 applications have been processed so far. Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) review for Funding Year 2012 Priority 2 requests has now begun.
USAC stated that Funding Year 2013 Forms 470 and 471 will be programmed and handled exclusively by USAC IT staff.
