In the latest News Brief, USAC provided updated guidance regarding cost-allocation of Basic Maintenance funding requests. The News Brief provided clarifications for applicants who are currently under existing multi-year contracts for maintenance services, as well as examples of contracts for which cost-allocations will be allowed. Highlights from the News Brief include:
- Applicants who are currently in the middle of multi-year maintenance contracts which may contain ineligible services per the updated rules in the Sixth Report and Order will be allowed to cost-allocate funding requests for FY2011.
- Four specific scenarios where cost-allocation will be allowed are addressed: contracts containing eligible and ineligible maintenance services, contracts containing eligible and ineligible maintenance services and equipment purchases, contracts which contain eligible maintenance services for cost-allocated equipment, and contracts which contain eligible maintenance services which cover a mixture of eligible and ineligible equipment.
