The Schools and Libraries Division February 8 announced that it would be able to support Year 4 internal connections requests for applicants with a discount rate of as low as 87 percent.
The announcement came as the SLD released a relatively large wave of funding commitments totaling nearly $207.6 million. The SLD said it has not determined whether it will be able to fund internal connections requests for applicants with discount rates of 86-85 percent.
Through the latest wave, number 14, the SLD has committed more than $2.1 billion for Year 4. SLD officials said last month that they have received approval from the Federal Communications Commission to commit up to $2.475 billion this year because applicants historically have not used all the money that was set aside for them.
