The Schools and Libraries Division has announced it will change the way it designates funding years. Starting immediately, the SLD will identify a funding year by the year in which it begins. In other words, the funding year that will start on July 1, 2002, previously designated as Year 5, will now be known as the 2002 funding year. That funding year will run until June 30, 2003.
The SLD said it was making the change because applicants had expressed confusion about the SLD's previous approach, which numbered the years sequentially.
