The Schools and Libraries Division announced that on February 17 it will release another 85 letters, approving $4 million in E-rate funding commitments for the 2003 funding year.
The SLD said this wave, the 22nd, will include commitments only for Priority One services, giving applicants the benefit of a Federal Communications Commission rule that automatically provides additional installation time for applicants whose commitments for non-recurring services, mostly in the form of internal connections, are not approved until after March 1.
Applicants that receive their 2003 commitments for non-recurring services after March 1, 2004, will have until September 30, 2005 to complete those projects. So far, the SLD has issued about $1.7 billion worth of commitments for the 2003 funding year.
