The number of Forms 470 that were posted in advance of FY 2009 is nearly identical to last year, according to an analysis by Funds For Learning. A total of 31,135 Forms 470 were posted since August 6, 2008 through January 15, 2009. This compares to 31,310 that were posted leading up to Funding Year 2008.
The pace of Form 470 postings increased remarkably in the four days prior to the deadline, with more than 1,000 posted on January 15. Almost 22,000 unique applicants (as identified by the Billed Entity Number) posting the more than 31,000 applications.
