In a solicitation for bids, the FCC has announced that it is seeking a contractor to conduct a survey of all E-rate program participants about the current state of their broadband access and usage.
In total, 25,000 E-rate applicants will be requested to take part in the online survey which should be concluded by February 28, 2010.
The authorization to conduct the survey comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and is to be conducted in order to help determine how the National Broadband Plan should address the educational and technological needs of schools and libraries.
