On March 8, 2017 the Senate Commerce Committee held an oversight hearing on the Federal Communications Commission. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and FCC Commissioners, Mignon Clyburn and Michael O’Rielly, talked to the Committee about how the FCC was going to continue to tackle closing the digital divide, working on FCC process reform, and making regulatory actions more transparent. While E-rate was not a main topic of discussion, Ranking Member Nelson (D-FL) reiterated his frustration with Chairman Pai rescinding the FCC E-rate staff report on the E-rate Modernization Order during his opening statement.
