On December 19, USAC issued FY2016 funding wave 26. The wave included a total of $141 million in commitments spread among 1,601 applicants. It was the second week in a row that USAC released a funding wave in excess of $100 million.
Funding commitments this year have been very slow, but USAC has recently taken additional steps to try and speed the process along. Amazingly, nearly 20% of this year’s funding has been released in just the past two weeks.
Not only has there been a sharp increase in the amount of funding, there has also been a significant jump in the number of applicants and count of funding requests processed.
