On May 15, 2014 the FCC released a Public Notice in which they will extend the application period to seek qualified nominees for the FCC-Native Nations Broadband Task Force. The application period has been extended until July 3, 2014 in order for the FCC to find more nominees with the “requisite subject matter expertise and appropriate regional representation…” The Task Force, which was created in March 2011, provides policy recommendations from Tribal government perspectives to the FCC on all relevant issues, including the E-rate program under the Universal Services Fund.
