On August 24 the SLD sent letters to 430 applicants and 440 service providers notifying them of the status of their 2005 commitments. The SLD committed $29 million which brings the total 2005 funded amount to $546 million with the pending amount over $2.7 billion. On August 17 the USAC Schools and Libraries Board authorized the SLD to fund internal connections down to 87% pending FCC approval. The SLD anticipates they will start issuing internal connections requests within the next wave or two.
