The latest Semi-Annual Audit Recovery Report provided to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) by the E-rate program administrator indicates that almost 497 E-rate beneficiary audits have been performed to date. The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) also reports that over $1.8 Billion in funding commitments have been audited as a result of these efforts. This represents about 9% of the total of E-rate funding commitments to date.
USAC is required to provide a report covering audit recovery efforts to the FCC on a semi-annual basis.
The report also shows that $89 Million has been sought for recovery as a result of audit findings and almost $16 Million has be repaid to the program to date.
