During the Schools and Libraries Committee quarterly meeting held this week, SLD officials reported that they are “optimistic” that there will be sufficient funding available to issue commitments to eligible Priority Two requests at the 87% discount level for Funding Year 2008.
While such a move would require an official recommendation from USAC and approval from the FCC, these statements represent an indication that is favorable to many applicants whom are waiting for decisions of these requests. The SLD did not offer any timeframe for a formal decision related to these requests.
